Good exhibitions and selection of books focused on photography. Highly recommend the current exhibition (Jan 2024) called “El curso de los acontecimientos”, I really enjoyed it!
Free entrance on first Sunday of the month, small photography-related bookstore available on the entrance, various collection of local photographers on display, extensive library collection and a cozy reading room available. Lockers are available in the back area.
I went to see the Diado Moriyama exhibition. Moriyama is considered one of Japan's most renowned photographers, famous for his radical and subjective approach. He said "I can't photograph anything without a city, I'm definitely addicted to cities" so a big part of his work is about street scenes. I loved how the exhibition at Foto Colectania was organised, the quotes from Moriyama they chose to accompany the photos, and I am looking forward to seeing their next exhibition.
Great experience, nice photography bookshop.
The exhibitions here are always great. The gallery has a single room and all the works are always concerned about photography. They bring international collections and often display works from very well-known artists in the history of photography. There's a tiny tiny store where they sell mostly books, and some are often somewhat related to the current exhibition. They also have this impressive library that is open to the visitors. There are free lockers and the entrance will cost only 4€.
The current exhibit by Marcelo Brodsky is incredible! Make sure you read all the information about the photos for full impact. [Side note- “student discount” only applies to those under 28 years old.]
Love it. Perfect the way it is as a foundational gallery space with a very nice photo book library. Located in front of the Ciutadella Park.
Good food. The owners are not originally Thai, but the food was good and some dishes indeed typically Thai.
Service could have been a bit better, but all in all a good change of taste after all the Spanish food 😊
